ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਪੜੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਣੀਐ ॥

माझ महला ४ ॥

Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਪੜੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਣੀਐ ॥

hari guṇ paṛīai hari guṇ guṇīai ॥

हरि गुण पड़ीऐ हरि गुण गुणीऐ ॥

Read of the Lord's Glories and reflect upon the Lord's Glories.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥

hari hari nām kathā nit suṇīai ॥

हरि हरि नाम कथा नित सुणीऐ ॥

Listen continually to the Sermon of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਗੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

mili satsaṅgti hari guṇ gāē jagu bhaujlu dutru tarīai jīu ॥1॥

मिलि सतसंगति हरि गुण गाए जगु भउजलु दुतरु तरीऐ जीउ ॥१॥

Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, you shall cross over the treacherous and terrifying world-ocean. ||1||

ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੁ ਕਰੇਹਾ ॥

āu sakhī hari mēlu karēhā ॥

आउ सखी हरि मेलु करेहा ॥

Come, friends, let us meet our Lord.

ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਾ ਮੈ ਦੇਇ ਸਨੇਹਾ ॥

mērē prītam kā mai dēi sanēhā ॥

मेरे प्रीतम का मै देइ सनेहा ॥

Bring me a message from my Beloved.

ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਖਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਭਾਈ ਮੈ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਰਹਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

mērā mitru sakhā sō prītmu bhāī mai dasē hari narharīai jīu ॥2॥

मेरा मित्रु सखा सो प्रीतमु भाई मै दसे हरि नरहरीऐ जीउ ॥२॥

He alone is a friend, companion, beloved and brother of mine, who shows me the way to the Lord, the Lord of all. ||2||

ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਦਨ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾਣੈ ॥

mērī bēdan hari guru pūrā jāṇai ॥

मेरी बेदन हरि गुरु पूरा जाणै ॥

My illness is known only to the Lord and the Perfect Guru.

ਹਉ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥

hau rahi na sakā binu nām vakhāṇē ॥

हउ रहि न सका बिनु नाम वखाणे ॥

I cannot continue living without chanting the Naam.

ਮੈ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਧਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

mai aukhdhu mantru dījai gur pūrē mai hari hari nāmi udhrīai jīu ॥3॥

मै अउखधु मंत्रु दीजै गुर पूरे मै हरि हरि नामि उधरीऐ जीउ ॥३॥

So give me the medicine, the Mantra of the Perfect Guru. Through the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I am saved. ||3||

ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥

ham chātrik dīn satigur sarṇāī ॥

हम चात्रिक दीन सतिगुर सरणाई ॥

I am just a poor song-bird, in the Sanctuary of the True Guru,

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੂੰਦ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

hari hari nāmu būnd mukhi pāī ॥

हरि हरि नामु बूंद मुखि पाई ॥

Who has placed the Drop of Water, the Lord's Name, Har, Har, in my mouth.

ਹਰਿ ਜਲਨਿਧਿ ਹਮ ਜਲ ਕੇ ਮੀਨੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩॥

hari jalnidhi ham jal kē mīnē jan nānak jal binu marīai jīu ॥4॥3॥

हरि जलनिधि हम जल के मीने जन नानक जल बिनु मरीऐ जीउ ॥४॥३॥

The Lord is the Treasure of Water; I am just a fish in that water. Without this Water, servant Nanak would die. ||4||3||
