ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਾ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ॥

hari charan saran gōbind dukh bhañjnā dās apunē kau nāmu dēvhu ॥

हरि चरन सरन गोबिंद दुख भंजना दास अपुने कउ नामु देवहु ॥

O Lord, I seek the Sanctuary of Your feet; Lord of the Universe, Destroyer of pain, please bless Your slave with Your Name.

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਰਹੁ ਭੁਜਾ ਗਹਿ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

drisṭi prabh dhārhu kripā kari tārhu bhujā gahi kūp tē kāḍhi lēvhu ॥ rahāu ॥

द्रिसटि प्रभ धारहु क्रिपा करि तारहु भुजा गहि कूप ते काढि लेवहु ॥ रहाउ ॥

Be Merciful, God, and bless me with Your Glance of Grace; take my arm and save me - pull me up out of this pit! ||Pause||

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰਿ ਅੰਧ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਬੰਧ ਅਨਿਕ ਦੋਖਾ ਤਨਿ ਛਾਦਿ ਪੂਰੇ ॥

kām krōdh kari andh māiā kē bandh anik dōkhā tani chhādi pūrē ॥

काम क्रोध करि अंध माइआ के बंध अनिक दोखा तनि छादि पूरे ॥

He is blinded by sexual desire and anger, bound by Maya; his body and clothes are filled with countless sins.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਾਵਹੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੂਰੇ ॥੧॥

prabh binā ān na rākhnahārā nāmu simrāvhu sarni sūrē ॥1॥

प्रभ बिना आन न राखनहारा नामु सिमरावहु सरनि सूरे ॥१॥

Without God, there is no other protector; help me to chant Your Name, Almighty Warrior, Sheltering Lord. ||1||

ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣਾ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤਾਰਣਾ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਾਰ ਨਹੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥

patit udhārṇā jīa jant tārṇā bēd uchār nahī antu pāiō ॥

पतित उधारणा जीअ जंत तारणा बेद उचार नही अंतु पाइओ ॥

Redeemer of sinners, Saving Grace of all beings and creatures, even those who recite the Vedas have not found Your limit.

ਗੁਣਹ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਰਤਨਾਗਰਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧॥੫੩॥

guṇah sukh sāgrā braham ratnāgrā bhagti vachhlu nānak gāiō ॥2॥1॥53॥

गुणह सुख सागरा ब्रहम रतनागरा भगति वछलु नानक गाइओ ॥२॥१॥५३॥

God is the ocean of virtue and peace, the source of jewels; Nanak sings the Praises of the Lover of His devotees. ||2||1||53||
