ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਫਲ ਜਨੰਮ ਜਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਫਲ ਜਨੰਮ ਜਗ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ॥

gurmukh saphal janamm jag vic āiā॥

गुरमुख सफल जनंम जग विच आइआ॥

Blest is the birth of a gurmukh and his coming to this world.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪੂਰ ਕਰੰਮ ਆਪ ਗਵਾਇਆ॥

gurmati pūr karamm āp gavāiā॥

गुरमति पूर करंम आप गवाइआ॥

In accordance with the wisdom of the Guru he deletes his ego and accomplishes the (virtuous) actions.

ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰ ਕੰਮ ਸੁਖਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ॥

bhāu bhagti kar kamm sukhphal pāiā॥

भाउ भगति कर कंम सुखफल पाइआ॥

He works controlled by his love for work and loving devotion, and receives the pleasure fruit (of life).

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਅਗੰਮ ਰਿਦ ਵਸਾਇਆ॥

gur updēsh agamm rid vasāiā॥

गुर उपदेश अगंम रिद वसाइआ॥

The inaccessible teachings of the Guru he adopts in his heart.

ਧੀਰਜ ਧੁਜਾ ਧਰੰਮ ਸਹਿਜ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ॥

dhīraj dhujā dharamm sahij subhāiā॥

धीरज धुजा धरंम सहिज सुभाइआ॥

Keeping of the flag of forbearance and dharma high, becomes his innate nature.

ਸਹੈ ਨ ਦੁਖ ਸਹੰਮ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੧੦॥

sahai na dukh sahamm bhāṇā bhāiā ॥10॥

सहै न दुख सहंम भाणा भाइआ ॥१०॥

He bows before the will of the Lord and never suffers any fear or sorrow.
