ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਰਹਰੈ ਮਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਖਸਮੈ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਰਹਰੈ ਮਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਖਸਮੈ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ॥

gurmukh haumai parharai man bhāvai khasmai dā bhāṇā॥

गुरमुख हउमै परहरै मन भावै खसमै दा भाणा॥

Gurmukh repudiates ego and he likes the will of God.

ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ ਪਾਖਾਕ ਹੋਇ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਣ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ॥

pairīṃ pai pākhāk hōi dargah pāvai māṇ nimāṇā॥

पैरीं पै पाखाक होइ दरगह पावै माण निमाणा॥

Becoming humble and falling at the feet he becomes dust and earns honour in the court of the Lord.

ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਣਾ॥

varatmān vic varatdā hōvṇahār sōī parvāṇā॥

वरतमान विच वरतदा होवणहार सोई परवाणा॥

He always moves in the present i.e. never ignores the contemporary situations and side by side accepts whatever is likely to happen.

ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ਸਿਰ ਧਰ ਮੰਨ ਕਰੈ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਣਾ॥

kāraṇ karatā jō karai sir dhar mann karai shukrāṇā॥

कारण करता जो करै सिर धर मंन करै शुकराणा॥

Whatever is done by the creator of all the causes, is gratefully accepted by him.

ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਜ਼ਾਇ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਿਉਂ ਮਿਹਮਾਣਾ॥

rājī hōi razāi vic dunīā andar jiuṃ mihmāṇā॥

राजी होइ रज़ाइ विच दुनीआ अंदर जिउं मिहमाणा॥

He remains happy in the will of the Lord and considers himself a guest in the world.

ਵਿਸਮਾਦੀ ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਕਾਦਰ ਨੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਣਾ॥

vismādī vismād vic kudrat kādar nōṃ kurbāṇā॥

विसमादी विसमाद विच कुदरत कादर नों कुरबाणा॥

He remains elated in the love of the Lord and goes sacrificed unto the feats of the creator.

ਲੇਪ ਅਲੇਪ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਬਾਣਾ ॥੨੧॥

lēp alēp sadā nirbāṇā ॥21॥

लेप अलेप सदा निरबाणा ॥२१॥

Living in the world he remains detached and liberated.
