ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇਕ ਅਰਾਧਣਾ ਇਕ ਮਨ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਚਿਤਾ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇਕ ਅਰਾਧਣਾ ਇਕ ਮਨ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਚਿਤਾ॥

gurmukh ik arādhṇā ik man hōi na hōi duchitā॥

गुरमुख इक अराधणा इक मन होइ न होइ दुचिता॥

The Gurmukhs single-mindedly adore the Lord and do not remain in dubiety.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਆਪ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਤਾਮਸ ਪਿਤਾ॥

gurmukh āp gavāiā jīvan mukti na tāmas pitā॥

गुरमुख आप गवाइआ जीवन मुकति न तामस पिता॥

By leaving away ego they become liberated and do not allow the darkness (ignorance) to reside in their heart.

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸਣ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਵਿਖੜਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਜਿਤਾ॥

gur updēsh ādēsh kar saṇ dūtāṃ vikhṛā gaṛh jitā॥

गुर उपदेश आदेश कर सण दूतां विखड़ा गड़्ह जिता॥

Wrapt in the teachings of the Guru, they conquer the fort (of body) including the five evils.

ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ ਪਾਖਾਕ ਹੋਇ ਪਾਹੁਨੜਾ ਜਗ ਹੋਇ ਅਥਿੱਤਾ॥

pairīṃ pai pākhāk hōi pāhunṛā jag hōi athittā॥

पैरीं पै पाखाक होइ पाहुनड़ा जग होइ अथिॱता॥

They fall at the feet, become like dust (i.e.lowly), consider themselves as guests in the world and are respected by the world.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮਾ ਪਿਉ ਦਾਈ ਮਿਤਾ॥

gurmukh sēvā gursikhāṃ gursikh mā piu dāī mitā॥

गुरमुख सेवा गुरसिखां गुरसिख मा पिउ दाई मिता॥

Gurmukhs serve the Sikhs considering them their parents, brothers and friends.

ਦੁਰਮਤ ਦੁਬਧਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਗੁਰਮਤ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਰਤ ਮਨ ਸਿਤਾ॥

durmat dubdhā dūr kar gurmat shabad surat man sitā॥

दुरमत दुबधा दूर कर गुरमत शबद सुरत मन सिता॥

Having given up illwill and dubiousness, they merge their consciousness in the Word and teachings of Guru.

ਛਡ ਕੁਫਕੜ ਕੂੜਿ ਕੁਧਿਤਾ ॥੨॥

chhaḍ kuphkaṛ kūṛi kudhitā ॥2॥

छड कुफकड़ कूड़ि कुधिता ॥२॥

They set aside frivolous argument, falsehood and bad deeds.
