ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕਰਨਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ॥

ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕਰਨਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ॥

gursikh jōgī jāgdē māiā andri karni udāsī॥

गुरसिख जोगी जागदे माइआ अंदरि करनि उदासी॥

Yogi Sikhs of the Guru are ever awake and remain detached amidst maya.

ਕੰਨੀਂ ਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਧੂੜਿ ਬਿਭੂਤ ਸੁ ਲਾਸੀੁ॥

kannīṃ mundrāṃ mantr gur santāṃ dhūṛi bibhūt su lāsu॥

कंनीं मुंदरां मंत्र गुर संतां धूड़ि बिभूत सु लासीु॥

Gurumantr for them is the earring and the dust of the feet of saints is ashes for them.

ਖਿੰਥਾ ਖਿਮਾ ਹੰਢਾਵਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਭਾਉ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਬਿਲਾਸੀ॥

khinthā khimā haṇḍhāvṇī prēm patr bhāu bhugti bilāsī॥

खिंथा खिमा हंढावणी प्रेम पत्र भाउ भुगति बिलासी॥

Forgiveness is their patched blanket, love their begging bowl and devotion is their trumpet (sitig),

ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਵਜੈ ਡੰਡਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਦਾਸੀ॥

sabad surti siṅṅī vajai ḍaṇḍā giānu dhiānu gur dāsī॥

सबद सुरति सिंङी वजै डंडा गिआनु धिआनु गुर दासी॥

Knowledge is their staff, and obedience to the Guru is their meditation.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਗੁਫੈ ਬਹਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ॥

sādhsaṅgti gur guphai bahi sahji samādhi agādhi nivāsī॥

साधसंगति गुर गुफै बहि सहजि समाधि अगाधि निवासी॥

Sitting in the cave in the form of holy congregation, they reside in unfathomable equipoise.

ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗ ਅਰੋਗ ਹੋਇ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗ ਖਲਾਸੀ॥

haumai rōg arōg hōi kari sañjōgu vijōg khalāsī॥

हउमै रोग अरोग होइ करि संजोगु विजोग खलासी॥

Getting cured of the ailment of ego, they are liberated from the bonds of comings and goings (birth and death).

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਬਾਸੀ ॥੧੫॥

sādhsaṅgti durmati sābāsī ॥15॥

साधसंगति दुरमति साबासी ॥१५॥

Holy congregation is applauded because of the wisdom of the Guru that resides in it.
