gur sikhī dā sikhṇā guru sikh sikhaṇ bajru bhārā॥

गुर सिखी दा सिखणा गुरु सिख सिखण बजरु भारा॥

Learning of the Sikh way of life is as tough as the thunderbolt and only the Sikhs of the Guru learn it.

ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਤੋਲਣਾ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਤੋਲਿ ਤੁਲੈ ਤੁਲਧਾਰਾ॥

gur sikhī dā tōlṇā tuli na tōli tulai tuldhārā॥

गुर सिखी दा तोलणा तुलि न तोलि तुलै तुलधारा॥

No scale can weigh the Sikh way of life.

ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ॥

gur sikhī dā dēkhṇā gurmukhi sādhsaṅgti gurduārā॥

गुर सिखी दा देखणा गुरमुखि साधसंगति गुरदुआरा॥

The glimpse of the Sikh life can be had only in the holy congregation and the Gurdvara, the door of the Lord.

gur sikhī dā chakhṇā sādhsaṅgti guru sabdu vīchārā॥

गुर सिखी दा चखणा साधसंगति गुरु सबदु वीचारा॥

Pondering upon the word of Guru in the holy congregation is like tasting of the Sikh way of life.

ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ॥

gur sikhī dā samjhaṇā jōtī jōti jagāvṇahārā॥

गुर सिखी दा समझणा जोती जोति जगावणहारा॥

Understanding of the Sikh life is like kindling the flame of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖਫਲ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੭॥

gurmukhi sukhphal pirmu piārā ॥7॥

गुरमुखि सुखफल पिरमु पिआरा ॥७॥

The pleasure-fruit of the Gurmukhs is the love of the dear Lord.
