ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ॥

ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ॥

gur sikhāṃ gur sikh sēv kamāvṇī॥

गुर सिखां गुर सिख सेव कमावणी॥

Within the teaching of the Guru, the Sikhs of the Guru serve (others).

ਚਾਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭਿਖ ਫਕੀਰਾਂ ਪਾਵਣੀ॥

chār padārath bhikh phakīrāṃ pāvṇī॥

चार पदारथ भिख फकीरां पावणी॥

They give in charity the four riches (char padarathi) to the beggars.

ਲੇਖ ਅਲੇਖ ਅਲਖ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਣੀ॥

lēkh alēkh alakh bāṇī gāvṇī॥

लेख अलेख अलख बाणी गावणी॥

They sing paeans of the invisible Lord who is beyond all accounts.

ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤ ਰਸ ਬਿਖ ਅਮਿਉ ਚੁਆਵਣੀ॥

bhāi bhagat ras bikh amiu chuāvṇī॥

भाइ भगत रस बिख अमिउ चुआवणी॥

They drink the juice of the sugarcane of loving devotion, and make others also enjoy the same.

ਤੁਲ ਨ ਭੂਤਭਵਿਖ ਨ ਕੀਮਤ ਪਾਵਣੀ॥

tul na bhūtbhavikh na kīmat pāvṇī॥

तुल न भूतभविख न कीमत पावणी॥

Nothing in the past as well as the future can be equal to their love.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿਖ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਵਣੀ॥੧੭॥

gurmukh mārag vikh lavai na lāvṇī॥17॥

गुरमुख मारग विख लवै न लावणी॥१७॥

None can vie with even the one step of the way of gurmukhs.
