ਘਰੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਵਥੁ ਹੈ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

आसा महला ३ ॥

Aasaa, Third Mehl:

ਘਰੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਵਥੁ ਹੈ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

gharai andri sabhu vathu hai bāhri kichhu nāhī ॥

घरै अंदरि सभु वथु है बाहरि किछु नाही ॥

Everything is within the home of your own self; there is nothing beyond it.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਪਟ ਖੁਲਾਹੀ ॥੧॥

gur parsādī pāīai antri kapaṭ khulāhī ॥1॥

गुर परसादी पाईऐ अंतरि कपट खुलाही ॥१॥

By Guru's Grace, it is obtained, and the doors of the inner heart are opened wide. ||1||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ॥

satigur tē hari pāīai bhāī ॥

सतिगुर ते हरि पाईऐ भाई ॥

From the True Guru, the Lord's Name is obtained, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

antri nāmu nidhānu hai pūrai satiguri dīā dikhāī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

अंतरि नामु निधानु है पूरै सतिगुरि दीआ दिखाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

The treasure of the Naam is within; the Perfect True Guru has shown this to me. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਲਏ ਪਾਏ ਰਤਨੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥

hari kā gāhku hōvai sō laē pāē ratnu vīchārā ॥

हरि का गाहकु होवै सो लए पाए रतनु वीचारा ॥

One who is a buyer of the Lord's Name, finds it, and obtains the jewel of contemplation.

ਅੰਦਰੁ ਖੋਲੈ ਦਿਬ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥੨॥

andru khōlai dib disṭi dēkhai mukti bhaṇḍārā ॥2॥

अंदरु खोलै दिब दिसटि देखै मुकति भंडारा ॥२॥

He opens the doors deep within, and through the Eyes of Divine Vision, beholds the treasure of liberation. ||2||

ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲ ਅਨੇਕ ਹਹਿ ਜੀਉ ਕਰੇ ਵਸੇਰਾ ॥

andri mahal anēk hahi jīu karē vasērā ॥

अंदरि महल अनेक हहि जीउ करे वसेरा ॥

There are so many mansions within the body; the soul dwells within them.

ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਸੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੩॥

man chindiā phalu pāisī phiri hōi na phērā ॥3॥

मन चिंदिआ फलु पाइसी फिरि होइ न फेरा ॥३॥

He obtains the fruits of his mind's desires, and he shall not have to go through reincarnation again. ||3||

ਪਾਰਖੀਆ ਵਥੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਲਈ ਗੁਰ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥

pārkhīā vathu samāli laī gur sōjhī hōī ॥

पारखीआ वथु समालि लई गुर सोझी होई ॥

The appraisers cherish the commodity of the Name; they obtain understanding from the Guru.

ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਅਮੁਲੁ ਸਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥

nāmu padārthu amulu sā gurmukhi pāvai kōī ॥4॥

नामु पदारथु अमुलु सा गुरमुखि पावै कोई ॥४॥

The wealth of the Naam is priceless; how few are the Gurmukhs who obtain it. ||4||

ਬਾਹਰੁ ਭਾਲੇ ਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਲਹੈ ਵਥੁ ਘਰੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਭਾਈ ॥

bāhru bhālē su kiā lahai vathu gharai andri bhāī ॥

बाहरु भाले सु किआ लहै वथु घरै अंदरि भाई ॥

Searching outwardly, what can anyone find? The commodity is deep within the home of the self, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਫਿਰੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੫॥

bharmē bhūlā sabhu jagu phirai manmukhi pati gavāī ॥5॥

भरमे भूला सभु जगु फिरै मनमुखि पति गवाई ॥५॥

The entire world is wandering around, deluded by doubt; the self-willed manmukhs lose their honor. ||5||

ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਛੋਡੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰ ਘਰਿ ਝੂਠਾ ਜਾਈ ॥

gharu daru chhōḍē āpaṇā par ghari jhūṭhā jāī ॥

घरु दरु छोडे आपणा पर घरि झूठा जाई ॥

The false one leaves his own hearth and home, and goes out to another's home.

ਚੋਰੈ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਪਕੜੀਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਈ ॥੬॥

chōrai vāṅgū pakṛīai binu nāvai chōṭā khāī ॥6॥

चोरै वांगू पकड़ीऐ बिनु नावै चोटा खाई ॥६॥

Like a thief, he is caught, and without the Naam, he is beaten and struck down. ||6||

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਘਰੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਭਾਈ ॥

jinī gharu jātā āpaṇā sē sukhīē bhāī ॥

जिन्‍ी घरु जाता आपणा से सुखीए भाई ॥

Those who know their own home, are happy, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੭॥

antri brahmu pachhāṇiā gur kī vaḍiāī ॥7॥

अंतरि ब्रहमु पछाणिआ गुर की वडिआई ॥७॥

They realize God within their own hearts, through the glorious greatness of the Guru. ||7||

ਆਪੇ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥

āpē dānu karē kisu ākhīai āpē dēi bujhāī ॥

आपे दानु करे किसु आखीऐ आपे देइ बुझाई ॥

He Himself gives gifts, and He Himself bestows understanding; unto whom can we complain?

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂੰ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੮॥੬॥੨੮॥

nānak nāmu dhiāi tūṃ dari sachai sōbhā pāī ॥8॥6॥28॥

नानक नामु धिआइ तूं दरि सचै सोभा पाई ॥८॥६॥२८॥

O Nanak, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and you shall obtain glory in the True Court. ||8||6||28||
