Malaar, Fifth Mehl:

ਘਨੁ ਗਰਜਤ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰੂਪ ॥

ghanu garjat gōbind rūp ॥

घनु गरजत गोबिंद रूप ॥

The Embodiment of the Lord of the Universe roars like the thunder-cloud.

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਖ ਚੈਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

gun gāvat sukh chain ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

गुन गावत सुख चैन ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Singing His Glorious Praises brings peace and bliss. ||1||Pause||

ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਧੁਨਿ ਅਨਹਤਾ ਰਸ ਬੈਨ ॥੧॥

hari charan saran taran sāgar dhuni anhatā ras bain ॥1॥

हरि चरन सरन तरन सागर धुनि अनहता रस बैन ॥१॥

The Sanctuary of the Lord's Feet carries us across the world-ocean. His Sublime Word is the unstruck celestial melody. ||1||

ਪਥਿਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਿਤ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਆਤਮ ਜਲੁ ਲੈਨ ॥

pathik piās chit sarōvar ātam jalu lain ॥

पथिक पिआस चित सरोवर आतम जलु लैन ॥

The thirsty traveller's consciousness obtains the water of the soul from the pool of nectar.

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੈਨ ॥੨॥੭॥੨੯॥

hari daras prēm jan nānak kari kirpā prabh dain ॥2॥7॥29॥

हरि दरस प्रेम जन नानक करि किरपा प्रभ दैन ॥२॥७॥२९॥

Servant Nanak loves the Blessed Vision of the Lord; in His Mercy, God has blessed him with it. ||2||7||29||
