ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥

Maaroo, First Mehl:

ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥

ihu dhanu sarab rahiā bharpūri ॥

इहु धनु सरब रहिआ भरपूरि ॥

This wealth is all-pervading, permeating all.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਸਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥

manmukh phirhi si jāṇhi dūri ॥1॥

मनमुख फिरहि सि जाणहि दूरि ॥१॥

The self-willed manmukh wanders around, thinking that it is far away. ||1||

ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਵਖਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥

sō dhanu vakhru nāmu ridai hamārai ॥

सो धनु वखरु नामु रिदै हमारै ॥

That commodity, the wealth of the Naam, is within my heart.

ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jisu tū dēhi tisai nistārai ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

जिसु तू देहि तिसै निसतारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Whoever You bless with it, is emancipated. ||1||Pause||

ਨ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਜਲੈ ਨ ਤਸਕਰੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

na ihu dhanu jalai na taskaru lai jāi ॥

न इहु धनु जलै न तसकरु लै जाइ ॥

This wealth does not burn; it cannot be stolen by a thief.

ਨ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਡੂਬੈ ਨ ਇਸੁ ਧਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੨॥

na ihu dhanu ḍūbai na isu dhan kau milai sajāi ॥2॥

न इहु धनु डूबै न इसु धन कउ मिलै सजाइ ॥२॥

This wealth does not drown, and its owner is never punished. ||2||

ਇਸੁ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥

isu dhan kī dēkhhu vaḍiāī ॥

इसु धन की देखहु वडिआई ॥

Gaze upon the glorious greatness of this wealth,

ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥

sahjē mātē andinu jāī ॥3॥

सहजे माते अनदिनु जाई ॥३॥

And your nights and days will pass, imbued with celestial peace. ||3||

ਇਕ ਬਾਤ ਅਨੂਪ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਨਰ ਭਾਈ ॥

ik bāt anūp sunhu nar bhāī ॥

इक बात अनूप सुनहु नर भाई ॥

Listen to this incomparably beautiful story, O my brothers, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਇਸੁ ਧਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥

isu dhan binu kahhu kinai param gati pāī ॥4॥

इसु धन बिनु कहहु किनै परम गति पाई ॥४॥

Tell me, without this wealth, who has ever obtained the supreme status? ||4||

ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਅਕਥ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥

bhaṇti nānku akath kī kathā suṇāē ॥

भणति नानकु अकथ की कथा सुणाए ॥

Nanak humbly prays, I proclaim the Unspoken Speech of the Lord.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੫॥੮॥

satiguru milai ta ihu dhanu pāē ॥5॥8॥

सतिगुरु मिलै त इहु धनु पाए ॥५॥८॥

If one meets the True Guru, then this wealth is obtained. ||5||8||
