ਦਯ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮੀਤੁਲਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਬਾਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਦਯ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮੀਤੁਲਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਬਾਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

day gusāī mītulā tūṃ saṅgi hamārai bāsu jīu ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

दय गुसाई मीतुला तूं संगि हमारै बासु जीउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

O Dear Lord God, my Best Friend, please, abide with me. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਘਰੀ ਨ ਜੀਵਨਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਰਹਣਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥

tujh binu gharī na jīvnā dhrigu rahṇā saṃsāri ॥

तुझ बिनु घरी न जीवना ध्रिगु रहणा संसारि ॥

Without You, I cannot live, even for an instant, and my life in this world is cursed.

ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਿਆ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ਜੀ ॥੧॥

jīa prāṇ sukhdātiā nimakh nimakh balihāri jī ॥1॥

जीअ प्राण सुखदातिआ निमख निमख बलिहारि जी ॥१॥

O Breath of Life of the soul, O Giver of peace, each and every instant I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||

ਹਸਤ ਅਲੰਬਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗਰਤਹੁ ਉਧਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥

hasat almbanu dēhu prabh gartahu udhru gōpāl ॥

हसत अलंबनु देहु प्रभ गरतहु उधरु गोपाल ॥

Please, God, give me the Support of Your Hand; lift me up and pull me out of this pit, O Lord of the World.

ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਮਤਿ ਥੋਰੀਆ ਤੂੰ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੨॥

mōhi nirgun mati thōrīā tūṃ sad hī dīn daiāl ॥2॥

मोहि निरगुन मति थोरीआ तूं सद ही दीन दइआल ॥२॥

I am worthless, with such a shallow intellect; You are always Merciful to the meek. ||2||

ਕਿਆ ਸੁਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਮਲਾ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧੀ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥

kiā sukh tērē sammlā kavan bidhī bīchār ॥

किआ सुख तेरे संमला कवन बिधी बीचार ॥

What comforts of Yours can I dwell upon? How can I contemplate You?

ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਦਾਸ ਹਿਤ ਊਚੇ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੩॥

sarṇi samāī dās hit ūchhē agam apār ॥3॥

सरणि समाई दास हित ऊचे अगम अपार ॥३॥

You lovingly absorb Your slaves into Your Sanctuary, O Lofty, Inaccessible and Infinite Lord. ||3||

ਸਗਲ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਸਟ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

sagal padārath asaṭ sidhi nām mahā ras māhi ॥

सगल पदारथ असट सिधि नाम महा रस माहि ॥

All wealth, and the eight miraculous spiritual powers are in the supremely sublime essence of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਕੇਸਵਾ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੪॥

suprasann bhaē kēsavā sē jan hari guṇ gāhi ॥4॥

सुप्रसंन भए केसवा से जन हरि गुण गाहि ॥४॥

Those humble beings, with whom the beautifully-haired Lord is thoroughly pleased, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰ ॥

māt pitā sut bandhpō tūṃ mērē prāṇ adhār ॥

मात पिता सुत बंधपो तूं मेरे प्राण अधार ॥

You are my mother, father, son and relative; You are the Support of the breath of life.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਭਜੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੫॥੧॥੧੧੬॥

sādhsaṅgi nānku bhajai bikhu tariā saṃsāru ॥5॥1॥116॥

साधसंगि नानकु भजै बिखु तरिआ संसारु ॥५॥१॥११६॥

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak meditates on the Lord, and swims across the poisonous world-ocean. ||5||1||116||
