ਧੰਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਧੰਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥

dhannu ihu thānu gōvind guṇ gāē ॥

धंनु इहु थानु गोविंद गुण गाए ॥

Blessed is this place, where the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe are sung.

ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਬਸਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kusal khēm prabhi āpi basāē ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

कुसल खेम प्रभि आपि बसाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

God Himself bestows peace and pleasure. ||1||Pause||

ਬਿਪਤਿ ਤਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

bipti tahā jahā hari simranu nāhī ॥

बिपति तहा जहा हरि सिमरनु नाही ॥

Misfortune occurs where the Lord is not remembered in meditation.

ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਜਹ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹੀ ॥੧॥

kōṭi anand jah hari gun gāhī ॥1॥

कोटि अनंद जह हरि गुन गाही ॥१॥

There are millions of joys where the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥

hari bisriai dukh rōg ghanērē ॥

हरि बिसरिऐ दुख रोग घनेरे ॥

Forgetting the Lord, all sorts of pains and diseases come.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੨॥

prabh sēvā jamu lagai na nērē ॥2॥

प्रभ सेवा जमु लगै न नेरे ॥२॥

Serving God, the Messenger of Death will not even approach you. ||2||

ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥

sō vaḍbhāgī nihchal thānu ॥

सो वडभागी निहचल थानु ॥

Very blessed, stable and sublime is that place,

ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥

jah japīai prabh kēval nāmu ॥3॥

जह जपीऐ प्रभ केवल नामु ॥३॥

Where the Name of God alone is chanted. ||3||

ਜਹ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥

jah jāīai tah nāli mērā suāmī ॥

जह जाईऐ तह नालि मेरा सुआमी ॥

Wherever I go, my Lord and Master is with me.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੮੯॥੧੫੮॥

nānak kau miliā antrajāmī ॥4॥89॥158॥

नानक कउ मिलिआ अंतरजामी ॥४॥८९॥१५८॥

Nanak has met the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||89||158||
