ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਾਹੂ ਲੋਗ

रामकली महला ५ ॥

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਾਹੂ ਲੋਗ ॥

dōsu na dījai kāhū lōg ॥

दोसु न दीजै काहू लोग ॥

Don't blame others, O people;

ਜੋ ਕਮਾਵਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਭੋਗ ॥

jō kamāvnu sōī bhōg ॥

जो कमावनु सोई भोग ॥

As you plant, so shall you harvest.

ਆਪਨ ਕਰਮ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬੰਧ ॥

āpan karam āpē hī bandh ॥

आपन करम आपे ही बंध ॥

By your actions, you have bound yourself.

ਆਵਨੁ ਜਾਵਨੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਧੰਧ ॥੧॥

āvnu jāvnu māiā dhandh ॥1॥

आवनु जावनु माइआ धंध ॥१॥

You come and go, entangled in Maya. ||1||

ਐਸੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੀ ॥

aisī jānī sant janī ॥

ऐसी जानी संत जनी ॥

Such is the understanding of the Saintly people.

ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

pargāsu bhaiā pūrē gur bacnī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

परगासु भइआ पूरे गुर बचनी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

You shall be enlightened, through the Word of the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥

tanu dhanu kaltu mithiā bisathār ॥

तनु धनु कलतु मिथिआ बिसथार ॥

Body, wealth, spouse and ostentatious displays are false.

ਹੈਵਰ ਗੈਵਰ ਚਾਲਨਹਾਰ ॥

haivar gaivar chālnahār ॥

हैवर गैवर चालनहार ॥

Horses and elephants will pass away.

ਰਾਜ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਸਭਿ ਕੂਰ ॥

rāj raṅg rūp sabhi kūr ॥

राज रंग रूप सभि कूर ॥

Power, pleasures and beauty are all false.

ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਸੀ ਧੂਰ ॥੨॥

nām binā hōi jāsī dhūr ॥2॥

नाम बिना होइ जासी धूर ॥२॥

Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, everything is reduced to dust. ||2||

ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਬਾਦਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥

bharmi bhūlē bādi ahaṅkārī ॥

भरमि भूले बादि अहंकारी ॥

The egotistical people are deluded by useless doubt.

ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥

saṅgi nāhī rē sagal pasārī ॥

संगि नाही रे सगल पसारी ॥

Of all this expanse, nothing shall go along with you.

ਸੋਗ ਹਰਖ ਮਹਿ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਰਧਾਨੀ ॥

sōg harakh mahi dēh birdhānī ॥

सोग हरख महि देह बिरधानी ॥

Through pleasure and pain, the body is growing old.

ਸਾਕਤ ਇਵ ਹੀ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ॥੩॥

sākat iv hī karat bihānī ॥3॥

साकत इव ही करत बिहानी ॥३॥

Doing these things, the faithless cynics are passing their lives. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕਲਿ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

hari kā nāmu ammritu kali māhi ॥

हरि का नामु अंम्रितु कलि माहि ॥

The Name of the Lord is Ambrosial Nectar in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga.

ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਾਹਿ ॥

ēhu nidhānā sādhū pāhi ॥

एहु निधाना साधू पाहि ॥

This treasure is obtained from the Holy.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂਠਾ ॥

nānak guru gōvidu jisu tūṭhā ॥

नानक गुरु गोविदु जिसु तूठा ॥

O Nanak, whoever pleases the Guru,

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੯॥

ghaṭi ghaṭi ramaīā tin hī ḍīṭhā ॥4॥8॥19॥

घटि घटि रमईआ तिन ही डीठा ॥४॥८॥१९॥

The Lord of the Universe, beholds the Lord in each and every heart. ||4||8||19||
