ਦਿੱਚੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਦੇਵਣਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਸਤ ਤਿਸੈ ਘਰ ਆਵੈ॥

ਦਿੱਚੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਦੇਵਣਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਸਤ ਤਿਸੈ ਘਰ ਆਵੈ॥

dicchē pūrab dēvṇā jis dī vasat tisai ghar āvai॥

दिॱचे पूरब देवणा जिस दी वसत तिसै घर आवै॥

Liabilities of the previous births have to be settled and the thing goes to the house it belongs to.

ਬੈਠਾ ਸੋਢੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਾਵੈ॥

baiṭhā sōḍhī pātishāh rāmdās satigurū kahāvai॥

बैठा सोढी पातिशाह रामदास सतिगुरू कहावै॥

Now Guru Ram Das, a Sodhi emperor, seated on the Guru-seat is called the true Guru.

ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾਲ ਖਟਾਇਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਤ ਜਗਾਵੈ॥

pūran tāl khaṭāiā ammritsar vic jōt jagāvai॥

पूरन ताल खटाइआ अंम्रितसर विच जोत जगावै॥

He got dug the complete holy tank and here settling down at Amritsar, he spread his light.

ਉਲਟਾ ਖੇਲ ਖਸੰਮ ਦਾ ਉਲਟੀ ਗੰਗ ਸਮੁੰਦ ਸਮਾਵੈ॥

ulṭā khēl khasamm dā ulṭī gaṅg samund samāvai॥

उलटा खेल खसंम दा उलटी गंग समुंद समावै॥

Wondrous is the play of the Lord. He can cause Ganges running in opposite direction merge in the ocean.

ਦਿਤਾ ਲਈਏ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਣ ਦਿਤਾ ਕਛ ਹਥ ਨ ਆਵੈ॥

ditā laīē āpaṇā aṇ ditā kachh hath na āvai॥

दिता लईए आपणा अण दिता कछ हथ न आवै॥

You get your own; given nothing cannot bring to you anything.

ਫਿਰ ਆਈ ਘਰ ਅਰਜਨੇ ਪੁਤ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਾਵੈ॥

phir āī ghar arjanē put saṃsārī gurū kahāvai॥

फिर आई घर अरजने पुत संसारी गुरू कहावै॥

Now the Guruship entered the house of Arjan (Dev) who, to say was the son, but, he proved through his good deeds to be worthy of the Guru-seat.

ਜਾਨ ਨ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਸੋਢੀਓਂ ਹੋਰਸ ਅਜਰ ਨ ਜਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੈ॥

jān na dēsāṃ sōḍhīōṃ hōras ajar na jariā jāvai॥

जान न देसां सोढीओं होरस अजर न जरिआ जावै॥

This Guruship would not go beyond Sodhis because none else can bear with this unbearable.

ਘਰ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਵੱਥ ਘਰੇ ਰਹਾਵੈ ॥੪੭॥

ghar hī kī vatth gharē rahāvai ॥47॥

घर ही की वॱथ घरे रहावै ॥४७॥

The thing of the House should remain in the House.
