Shalok, Fifth Mehl:

ਚਿੜੀ ਚੁਹਕੀ ਪਹੁ ਫੁਟੀ ਵਗਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਤਰੰਗ ॥

chiṛī chuhkī pahu phuṭī vagni bahutu taraṅg ॥

चिड़ी चुहकी पहु फुटी वगनि बहुतु तरंग ॥

The sparrows are chirping, and dawn has come; the wind stirs up the waves.

ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਚੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਹਿ ਰੰਗ ॥੧॥

acraj rūp santan rachē nānak nāmhi raṅg ॥1॥

अचरज रूप संतन रचे नानक नामहि रंग ॥१॥

Such a wondrous thing the Saints have fashioned, O Nanak, in the Love of the Naam. ||1||
