ਚਾਰ ਵਰਨ ਚਾਰ ਮਝਹਬਾਂ ਜਗ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੇ॥

ਚਾਰ ਵਰਨ ਚਾਰ ਮਝਹਬਾਂ ਜਗ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੇ॥

chār varan chār majhhabāṃ jag vic hindū muslamāṇē॥

चार वरन चार मझहबां जग विच हिंदू मुसलमाणे॥

There are four castes of Hindus and four sects of Muslims in the world.

ਖੁਦੀ ਬਕੀਲੀ ਤਕੱਬਰੀ ਖਿੰਚੋਤਾਣ ਕਰੇਨ ਧਿਙਾਣੇ॥

khudī bakīlī takbbarī khiñchōtāṇ karēn dhiṅāṇē॥

खुदी बकीली तकॱबरी खिंचोताण करेन धिङाणे॥

The members of both religions are selfish, jealous proud, bigoted and violent.

ਗੰਗ ਬਨਾਰਸ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਮੱਕਾ ਕਾਬਾ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੇ॥

gaṅg banāras hindūāṃ makkā kābā muslamāṇē॥

गंग बनारस हिंदूआं मॱका काबा मुसलमाणे॥

The Hindus make pilgrimage to Hardvar and Banaras, the Muslim to the Kaba of Mecca.

ਸੁੰਨਤ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਤਿਲਕ ਜੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਲੋਭਾਣੇ॥

sunnat muslamān dī tilak jūṃ hindū lōbhāṇē॥

सुंनत मुसलमान दी तिलक जूं हिंदू लोभाणे॥

Circumcision is dear to the Muslims, sandal mark (tilak) and sacred thread to the Hindus.

ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਕਹਾਇੰਦੇ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਇ ਰਾਹ ਭੁਲਾਣੇ॥

rām rahīm kahāindē ik nām dui rāh bhulāṇē॥

राम रहीम कहाइंदे इक नाम दुइ राह भुलाणे॥

The Hindus invoke Ram, the Muslims, Rahim, but in reality there is only One God.

ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਭੁਲਾਇਕੈ ਮੋਹੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੁਨੀ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਣੇ॥

bēd katēb bhulāikai mōhē lālac dunī shaitāṇē॥

बेद कतेब भुलाइकै मोहे लालच दुनी शैताणे॥

Since they have forgotten the Vedas and the Katebas, worldly greed and devil have led them astray.

ਸੱਚ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਯਾ ਖਹਿ ਮਰਦੇ ਬਾਮਣ ਮਉਲਾਣੇ॥

sacc kinārē rahi gayā khahi mardē bāmaṇ maulāṇē॥

सॱच किनारे रहि गया खहि मरदे बामण मउलाणे॥

Truth hidden from both; the brahmins and maulvis kill one another by their animosities.

ਸਿਰੋਂ ਨ ਮਿਟੇ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੨੧॥

sirōṃ na miṭē āvaṇ jāṇē ॥21॥

सिरों न मिटे आवण जाणे ॥२१॥

Neither sect shall find liberation from transmigration.
