ਬਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਪਰ ਧਨੁ ਲਿਆਵੈ ॥

Sorat'h:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik-ōṅkār satigur prasādi ॥

ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਬਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਪਰ ਧਨੁ ਲਿਆਵੈ ॥

bahu parpañc kari par dhanu liāvai ॥

बहु परपंच करि पर धनु लिआवै ॥

Practicing great hypocrisy, he acquires the wealth of others.

ਸੁਤ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਨਿ ਲੁਟਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

sut dārā pahi āni luṭāvai ॥1॥

सुत दारा पहि आनि लुटावै ॥१॥

Returning home, he squanders it on his wife and children. ||1||

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੂਲੇ ਕਪਟੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥

man mērē bhūlē kapṭu na kījai ॥

मन मेरे भूले कपटु न कीजै ॥

O my mind, do not practice deception, even inadvertently.

ਅੰਤਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਪਹਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

anti nibērā tērē jīa pahi lījai ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

अंति निबेरा तेरे जीअ पहि लीजै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

In the end, your own soul shall have to answer for its account. ||1||Pause||

ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਛੀਜੈ ਜਰਾ ਜਨਾਵੈ ॥

chhinu chhinu tanu chhījai jarā janāvai ॥

छिनु छिनु तनु छीजै जरा जनावै ॥

Moment by moment, the body is wearing away, and old age is asserting itself.

ਤਬ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਕ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਨੀਓ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥

tab tērī ōk kōī pānīō na pāvai ॥2॥

तब तेरी ओक कोई पानीओ न पावै ॥२॥

And then, when you are old, no one shall pour water into your cup. ||2||

ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥

kahtu kabīru kōī nahī tērā ॥

कहतु कबीरु कोई नही तेरा ॥

Says Kabeer, no one belongs to you.

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਕੀ ਨ ਜਪਹਿ ਸਵੇਰਾ ॥੩॥੯॥

hirdai rāmu kī na japhi savērā ॥3॥9॥

हिरदै रामु की न जपहि सवेरा ॥३॥९॥

Why not chant the Lord's Name in your heart, when you are still young? ||3||9||
