ਬਿਰਥਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਲੋਕ ॥

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਬਿਰਥਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਲੋਕ ॥

birthā bharvāsā lōk ॥

बिरथा भरवासा लोक ॥

Reliance on mortal man is useless.

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ॥

ṭhākur prabh tērī ṭēk ॥

ठाकुर प्रभ तेरी टेक ॥

O God, my Lord and Master, You are my only Support.

ਅਵਰ ਛੂਟੀ ਸਭ ਆਸ ॥

avar chhūṭī sabh ās ॥

अवर छूटी सभ आस ॥

I have discarded all other hopes.

ਅਚਿੰਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥੧॥

achint ṭhākur bhēṭē guṇtās ॥1॥

अचिंत ठाकुर भेटे गुणतास ॥१॥

I have met with my carefree Lord and Master, the treasure of virtue. ||1||

ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥

ēkō nāmu dhiāi man mērē ॥

एको नामु धिआइ मन मेरे ॥

Meditate on the Name of the Lord alone, O my mind.

ਕਾਰਜੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kārju tērā hōvai pūrā hari hari hari guṇ gāi man mērē ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

कारजु तेरा होवै पूरा हरि हरि हरि गुण गाइ मन मेरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Your affairs shall be perfectly resolved; sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, O my mind. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ॥

tum hī kāran karan ॥

तुम ही कारन करन ॥

You are the Doer, the Cause of causes.

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਨ ॥

charan kamal hari saran ॥

चरन कमल हरि सरन ॥

Your lotus feet, Lord, are my Sanctuary.

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਓਹੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥

mani tani hari ōhī dhiāiā ॥

मनि तनि हरि ओही धिआइआ ॥

I meditate on the Lord in my mind and body.

ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

ānand hari rūp dikhāiā ॥2॥

आनंद हरि रूप दिखाइआ ॥२॥

The blissful Lord has revealed His form to me. ||2||

ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਸਦੀਵ ॥

tis hī kī ōṭ sadīv ॥

तिस ही की ओट सदीव ॥

I seek His eternal support;

ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਨੇ ਹੈ ਜੀਵ ॥

jā kē kīnē hai jīv ॥

जा के कीने है जीव ॥

He is the Creator of all beings.

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

simrat hari karat nidhān ॥

सिमरत हरि करत निधान ॥

Remembering the Lord in meditation, the treasure is obtained.

ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥

rākhnahār nidān ॥3॥

राखनहार निदान ॥३॥

At the very last instant, He shall be your Savior. ||3||

ਸਰਬ ਕੀ ਰੇਣ ਹੋਵੀਜੈ ॥

sarab kī rēṇ hōvījai ॥

सरब की रेण होवीजै ॥

Be the dust of all men's feet.

ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇ ਮਿਲੀਜੈ ॥

āpu miṭāi milījai ॥

आपु मिटाइ मिलीजै ॥

Eradicate self-conceit, and merge in the Lord.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

andinu dhiāīai nāmu ॥

अनदिनु धिआईऐ नामु ॥

Night and day, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਸਫਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੪੪॥

saphal nānak ihu kāmu ॥4॥33॥44॥

सफल नानक इहु कामु ॥४॥३३॥४४॥

O Nanak, this is the most rewarding activity. ||4||33||44||
