ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥

Raamkalee, Third Mehl:

ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥

bhagti khajānā gurmukhi jātā satiguri būjhi bujhāī ॥1॥

भगति खजाना गुरमुखि जाता सतिगुरि बूझि बुझाई ॥१॥

The treasure of devotional worship is revealed to the Gurmukh; the True Guru has inspired me to understand this understanding. ||1||

ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

santhu gurmukhi dēi vaḍiāī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

संतहु गुरमुखि देइ वडिआई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

O Saints, the Gurmukh is blessed with glorious greatness. ||1||Pause||

ਸਚਿ ਰਹਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥

sachi rahhu sadā sahju sukhu upjai kāmu krōdhu vichhu jāī ॥2॥

सचि रहहु सदा सहजु सुखु उपजै कामु क्रोधु विचहु जाई ॥२॥

Dwelling always in Truth, celestial peace wells up; sexual desire and anger are eliminated from within. ||2||

ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਈ ॥੩॥

āpu chhōḍi nām liv lāgī mamtā sabdi jalāī ॥3॥

आपु छोडि नाम लिव लागी ममता सबदि जलाई ॥३॥

Eradicating self-conceit, remain lovingly focused on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; through the Word of the Shabad, burn away possessiveness. ||3||

ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਅੰਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੪॥

jis tē upjai tis tē binsai antē nāmu sakhāī ॥4॥

जिस ते उपजै तिस ते बिनसै अंते नामु सखाई ॥४॥

By Him we are created, and by Him we are destroyed; in the end, the Naam will be our only help and support. ||4||

ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਹ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਚਨਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚਾਈ ॥੫॥

sadā hajūri dūri nah dēkhhu racnā jini rachāī ॥5॥

सदा हजूरि दूरि नह देखहु रचना जिनि रचाई ॥५॥

He is ever-present; don't think that He is far away. He created the creation. ||5||

ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵੈ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੬॥

sachā sabdu ravai ghaṭ antri sachē siu liv lāī ॥6॥

सचा सबदु रवै घट अंतरि सचे सिउ लिव लाई ॥६॥

Deep within your heart, chant the True Word of the Shabad; remain lovingly absorbed in the True Lord. ||6||

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੭॥

satsaṅgti mahi nāmu nirmōlku vaḍai bhāgi pāiā jāī ॥7॥

सतसंगति महि नामु निरमोलकु वडै भागि पाइआ जाई ॥७॥

The Priceless Naam is in the Society of the Saints; by great good fortune, it is obtained. ||7||

ਭਰਮਿ ਨ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਇਕ ਠਾਈ ॥੮॥

bharmi na bhūlhu satiguru sēvhu manu rākhhu ik ṭhāī ॥8॥

भरमि न भूलहु सतिगुरु सेवहु मनु राखहु इक ठाई ॥८॥

Do not be deluded by doubt; serve the True Guru, and keep your mind steady in one place. ||8||

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਭੂਲੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੯॥

binu nāvai sabh bhūlī phirdī birthā janmu gavāī ॥9॥

बिनु नावै सभ भूली फिरदी बिरथा जनमु गवाई ॥९॥

Without the Name, everyone wanders around in confusion; they waste away their lives in vain. ||9||

ਜੋਗੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਹੰਢੈ ਪਾਖੰਡਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੦॥

jōgī jugti gavāī haṇḍhai pākhṇḍi jōgu na pāī ॥10॥

जोगी जुगति गवाई हंढै पाखंडि जोगु न पाई ॥१०॥

Yogi, you have lost the Way; you wander around confused. Through hypocrisy, Yoga is not attained. ||10||

ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣਿ ਬੈਸੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੧॥

siv nagrī mahi āsṇi baisai gur sabadī jōgu pāī ॥11॥

सिव नगरी महि आसणि बैसै गुर सबदी जोगु पाई ॥११॥

Sitting in Yogic postures in the City of God, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, you shall find Yoga. ||11||

ਧਾਤੁਰ ਬਾਜੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੧੨॥

dhātur bājī sabdi nivārē nāmu vasai mani āī ॥12॥

धातुर बाजी सबदि निवारे नामु वसै मनि आई ॥१२॥

Restrain your restless wanderings through the Shabad, and the Naam will come to dwell in your mind. ||12||

ਏਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧੩॥

ēhu sarīru sarvaru hai santhu isnānu karē liv lāī ॥13॥

एहु सरीरु सरवरु है संतहु इसनानु करे लिव लाई ॥१३॥

This body is a pool, O Saints; bathe in it, and enshrine love for the Lord. ||13||

ਨਾਮਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧੪॥

nāmi isnānu karahi sē jan nirmal sabdē mailu gavāī ॥14॥

नामि इसनानु करहि से जन निरमल सबदे मैलु गवाई ॥१४॥

Those who cleanse themselves through the Naam, are the most immaculate people; through the Shabad, they wash off their filth. ||14||

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਅਚੇਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੫॥

trai guṇ achēt nāmu chēthi nāhī binu nāvai binsi jāī ॥15॥

त्रै गुण अचेत नामु चेतहि नाही बिनु नावै बिनसि जाई ॥१५॥

Trapped by the three qualities, the unconscious person does not think of the Naam; without the Name, he wastes away. ||15||

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸੁ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਣਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੬॥

brahmā bisnu mahēsu trai mūrti triguṇi bharmi bhulāī ॥16॥

ब्रहमा बिसनु महेसु त्रै मूरति त्रिगुणि भरमि भुलाई ॥१६॥

The three forms of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are trapped in the three qualities, lost in confusion. ||16||

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਛੂਟੈ ਚਉਥੈ ਪਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧੭॥

gur parsādī trikuṭī chhūṭai chauthai padi liv lāī ॥17॥

गुर परसादी त्रिकुटी छूटै चउथै पदि लिव लाई ॥१७॥

By Guru's Grace, this triad is eradicated, and one is lovingly absorbed in the fourth state. ||17||

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੜਹਿ ਪੜਿ ਵਾਦੁ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੮॥

paṇḍit paṛhi paṛi vādu vakhāṇhi tinnā būjh na pāī ॥18॥

पंडित पड़हि पड़ि वादु वखाणहि तिंना बूझ न पाई ॥१८॥

The Pandits, the religious scholars, read, study and discuss the arguments; they do not understand. ||18||

ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਤੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਹਹਿ ਕਿਸੁ ਭਾਈ ॥੧੯॥

bikhiā mātē bharmi bhulāē updēsu kahhi kisu bhāī ॥19॥

बिखिआ माते भरमि भुलाए उपदेसु कहहि किसु भाई ॥१९॥

Engrossed in corruption, they wander in confusion; who can they possibly instruct, O Siblings of Destiny? ||19||

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨੦॥

bhagat janā kī ūtam bāṇī jugi jugi rahī samāī ॥20॥

भगत जना की ऊतम बाणी जुगि जुगि रही समाई ॥२०॥

The Bani, the Word of the humble devotee is the most sublime and exalted; it prevails throughout the ages. ||20||

ਬਾਣੀ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੋ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਬਦੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨੧॥

bāṇī lāgai sō gati pāē sabdē sachi samāī ॥21॥

बाणी लागै सो गति पाए सबदे सचि समाई ॥२१॥

One who is committed to this Bani is emancipated, and through the Shabad, merges in Truth. ||21||

ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਖੋਜੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵੰ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੨॥

kāiā nagrī sabdē khōjē nāmu navaṃ nidhi pāī ॥22॥

काइआ नगरी सबदे खोजे नामु नवं निधि पाई ॥२२॥

One who searches the village of the body, through the Shabad, obtains the nine treasures of the Naam. ||22||

ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੨੩॥

mansā māri manu sahji samāṇā binu rasnā ustati karāī ॥23॥

मनसा मारि मनु सहजि समाणा बिनु रसना उसतति कराई ॥२३॥

Conquering desire, the mind is absorbed in intuitive ease, and then one chants the Lord's Praises without speaking. ||23||

ਲੋਇਣ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਅਦਿਸਟਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥੨੪॥

lōiṇ dēkhi rahē bismādī chitu adisṭi lagāī ॥24॥

लोइण देखि रहे बिसमादी चितु अदिसटि लगाई ॥२४॥

Let your eyes gaze upon the Wondrous Lord; let your consciousness be attached to the Unseen Lord. ||24||

ਅਦਿਸਟੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੁ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੨੫॥

adisṭu sadā rahai nirālmu jōtī jōti milāī ॥25॥

अदिसटु सदा रहै निरालमु जोती जोति मिलाई ॥२५॥

The Unseen Lord is forever absolute and immaculate; one's light merges into the Light. ||25||

ਹਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੨੬॥

hau guru sālāhī sadā āpaṇā jini sāchī būjh bujhāī ॥26॥

हउ गुरु सालाही सदा आपणा जिनि साची बूझ बुझाई ॥२६॥

I praise my Guru forever, who has inspired me to understand this true understanding. ||26||

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਗਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੭॥੨॥੧੧॥

nānku ēk kahai bēnntī nāvhu gati pati pāī ॥27॥2॥11॥

नानकु एक कहै बेनंती नावहु गति पति पाई ॥२७॥२॥११॥

Nanak offers this one prayer: through the Name, may I find salvation and honor. ||27||2||11||
