Third Mehl:

ਭਿੰਨੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਵੁਠਾ ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਇ ॥

bhinnī raiṇi chamkiā vuṭhā chhahbar lāi ॥

भिंनी रैणि चमकिआ वुठा छहबर लाइ ॥

The night is wet with dew; lightning flashes, and the rain pours down in torrents.

ਜਿਤੁ ਵੁਠੈ ਅਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਹੁ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥

jitu vuṭhai anu dhanu bahutu ūpjai jāṃ sahu karē rajāi ॥

जितु वुठै अनु धनु बहुतु ऊपजै जां सहु करे रजाइ ॥

Food and wealth are produced in abundance when it rains, if it is the Will of God.

ਜਿਤੁ ਖਾਧੈ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀਐ ਜੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

jitu khādhai manu triptīai jīāṃ jugti samāi ॥

जितु खाधै मनु त्रिपतीऐ जीआं जुगति समाइ ॥

Consuming it, the minds of His creatures are satisfied, and they adopt the lifestyle of the way.

ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਹੈ ਕਦੇ ਆਵੈ ਕਦੇ ਜਾਇ ॥

ihu dhanu kartē kā khēlu hai kadē āvai kadē jāi ॥

इहु धनु करते का खेलु है कदे आवै कदे जाइ ॥

This wealth is the play of the Creator Lord. Sometimes it comes, and sometimes it goes.

ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

giānīā kā dhanu nāmu hai sad hī rahai samāi ॥

गिआनीआ का धनु नामु है सद ही रहै समाइ ॥

The Naam is the wealth of the spiritually wise. It is permeating and pervading forever.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥

nānak jin kau nadri karē tāṃ ihu dhanu palai pāi ॥2॥

नानक जिन कउ नदरि करे तां इहु धनु पलै पाइ ॥२॥

O Nanak, those who are blessed with His Glance of Grace receive this wealth. ||2||
