ਭਾਵਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿਓ ਰੀ ਤਿਆਗਿਓ ॥

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

gauṛī mālā mahlā 5 ॥

गउड़ी माला महला ५ ॥

Gauree Maalaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਭਾਵਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿਓ ਰੀ ਤਿਆਗਿਓ ॥

bhāvnu tiāgiō rī tiāgiō ॥

भावनु तिआगिओ री तिआगिओ ॥

I have renounced my desires; I have renounced them.

ਤਿਆਗਿਓ ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਤਿਆਗਿਓ ॥

tiāgiō mai gur mili tiāgiō ॥

तिआगिओ मै गुर मिलि तिआगिओ ॥

I have renounced them; meeting the Guru, I have renounced them.

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸ ਮਾਨਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੈ ਆਗਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sarab sukh ānand maṅgal ras māni gōbindai āgiō ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

सरब सुख आनंद मंगल रस मानि गोबिंदै आगिओ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

All peace, joy, happiness and pleasures have come since I surrendered to the Will of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||

ਮਾਨੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਦੋਊ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਮਸਤਕੁ ਡਾਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਗਿਓ ॥

mānu abhimānu dōū samānē mastaku ḍāri gur pāgiō ॥

मानु अभिमानु दोऊ समाने मसतकु डारि गुर पागिओ ॥

Honor and dishonor are the same to me; I have placed my forehead upon the Guru's Feet.

ਸੰਪਤ ਹਰਖੁ ਨ ਆਪਤ ਦੂਖਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੈ ਲਾਗਿਓ ॥੧॥

sampat harkhu na āpat dūkhā raṅgu ṭhākurai lāgiō ॥1॥

संपत हरखु न आपत दूखा रंगु ठाकुरै लागिओ ॥१॥

Wealth does not excite me, and misfortune does not disturb me; I have embraced love for my Lord and Master. ||1||

ਬਾਸ ਬਾਸਰੀ ਏਕੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਗਿਓ ॥

bās bāsrī ēkai suāmī udiān drisṭāgiō ॥

बास बासरी एकै सुआमी उदिआन द्रिसटागिओ ॥

The One Lord and Master dwells in the home; He is seen in the wilderness as well.

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਸੰਤ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਡਾਰਿਓ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਰਬਾਗਿਓ ॥੨॥

nirbhau bhaē sant bhramu ḍāriō pūran sarbāgiō ॥2॥

निरभउ भए संत भ्रमु डारिओ पूरन सरबागिओ ॥२॥

I have become fearless; the Saint has removed my doubts. The All-knowing Lord is pervading everywhere. ||2||

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਤੈ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਮਨਿ ਬੁਰੋ ਨ ਲਾਗਿਓ ॥

jō kichhu kartai kārṇu kīnō mani burō na lāgiō ॥

जो किछु करतै कारणु कीनो मनि बुरो न लागिओ ॥

Whatever the Creator does, my mind is not troubled.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੋਇਓ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਿਓ ॥੩॥

sādhsaṅgti parsādi santan kai sōiō manu jāgiō ॥3॥

साधसंगति परसादि संतन कै सोइओ मनु जागिओ ॥३॥

By the Grace of the Saints and the Company of the Holy, my sleeping mind has been awakened. ||3||

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਓੜਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ਪਰਿਓ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਣਾਗਿਓ ॥

jan nānak ōṛi tuhārī pariō āiō sarṇāgiō ॥

जन नानक ओड़ि तुहारी परिओ आइओ सरणागिओ ॥

Servant Nanak seeks Your Support; he has come to Your Sanctuary.

ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗ ਸਹਜ ਰਸ ਮਾਣੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗਿਓ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬੦॥

nām raṅg sahaj ras māṇē phiri dūkhu na lāgiō ॥4॥2॥160॥

नाम रंग सहज रस माणे फिरि दूखु न लागिओ ॥४॥२॥१६०॥

In the Love of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he enjoys intuitive peace; pain no longer touches him. ||4||2||160||
