Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:

ਭਾਗ ਸੁਲਖਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

bhāg sulakhṇā hari kantu hamārā rām ॥

भाग सुलखणा हरि कंतु हमारा राम ॥

By blessed destiny, I have found my Husband Lord.

ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਜਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਧੁਨਿ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

anhad bājitrā tisu dhuni darbārā rām ॥

अनहद बाजित्रा तिसु धुनि दरबारा राम ॥

The unstruck sound current vibrates and resounds in the Court of the Lord.

ਆਨੰਦ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਵਜਹਿ ਵਾਜੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਉਮਾਹਾ ॥

ānand andinu vajhi vājē dinsu raiṇi umāhā ॥

आनंद अनदिनु वजहि वाजे दिनसु रैणि उमाहा ॥

Night and day, the sounds of ecstasy resound and resonate; day and night, I am enraptured.

ਤਹ ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਨ ਦੂਖੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਤਾਹਾ ॥

tah rōg sōg na dūkhu biāpai janam marṇu na tāhā ॥

तह रोग सोग न दूखु बिआपै जनम मरणु न ताहा ॥

Disease, sorrow and suffering do not afflict anyone there; there is no birth or death there.

ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸੁਧਾ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥

ridhi sidhi sudhā rasu ammritu bhagti bharē bhaṇḍārā ॥

रिधि सिधि सुधा रसु अंम्रितु भगति भरे भंडारा ॥

There are treasures overflowing there - wealth, miraculous powers, ambrosial nectar and devotional worship.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ਵੰਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥

binvanti nānak balihāri vaā pārbraham prān adhārā ॥1॥

बिनवंति नानक बलिहारि वंा पारब्रहम प्रान अधारा ॥१॥

Prays Nanak, I am a sacrifice, devoted to the Supreme Lord God, the Support of the breath of life. ||1||

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਅ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਹੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਹ ਰਾਮ ॥

suṇi sakhīa sahēlṛīhō mili maṅglu gāvah rām ॥

सुणि सखीअ सहेलड़ीहो मिलि मंगलु गावह राम ॥

Listen, O my companions, and sister soul-brides, let's join together and sing the songs of joy.

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਰਾਵਹ ਰਾਮ ॥

mani tani prēmu karē tisu prabh kau rāvah rām ॥

मनि तनि प्रेमु करे तिसु प्रभ कउ रावह राम ॥

Loving our God with mind and body, let's ravish and enjoy Him.

ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਰਾਵਹ ਤਿਸੈ ਭਾਵਹ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਪਲਕ ਨ ਤਿਆਗੀਐ ॥

kari prēmu rāvah tisai bhāvah ik nimakh palak na tiāgīai ॥

करि प्रेमु रावह तिसै भावह इक निमख पलक न तिआगीऐ ॥

Lovingly enjoying Him, we become pleasing to Him; let's not reject Him, for a moment, even for an instant.

ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਈਐ ਨਹ ਲਜਾਈਐ ਚਰਨ ਰਜ ਮਨੁ ਪਾਗੀਐ ॥

gahi kaṇṭhi lāīai nah lajāīai charan raj manu pāgīai ॥

गहि कंठि लाईऐ नह लजाईऐ चरन रज मनु पागीऐ ॥

Let's hug Him close in our embrace, and not feel shy; let's bathe our minds in the dust of His feet.

ਭਗਤਿ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਪਾਇ ਮੋਹਹ ਅਨਤ ਕਤਹੂ ਨ ਧਾਵਹ ॥

bhagti ṭhagaurī pāi mōhah anat katahū na dhāvah ॥

भगति ठगउरी पाइ मोहह अनत कतहू न धावह ॥

With the intoxicating drug of devotional worship, let's entice Him, and not wander anywhere else.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਅਮਰ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਵਹ ॥੨॥

binvanti nānak mili saṅgi sājan amar padvī pāvah ॥2॥

बिनवंति नानक मिलि संगि साजन अमर पदवी पावह ॥२॥

Prays Nanak, meeting with our True Friend, we attain the immortal status. ||2||

ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮ ਭਈ ਪੇਖਿ ਗੁਣ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

bisman bisam bhaī pēkhi guṇ abināsī rām ॥

बिसमन बिसम भई पेखि गुण अबिनासी राम ॥

I am wonder-struck and amazed, gazing upon the Glories of my Imperishable Lord.

ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਗਹੀ ਕਟਿ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥

karu gahi bhujā gahī kaṭi jam kī phāsī rām ॥

करु गहि भुजा गही कटि जम की फासी राम ॥

He took my hand, and held my arm, and cut away the noose of Death.

ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਦਾਸਿ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਅੰਕੁਰਿ ਉਦੋਤੁ ਜਣਾਇਆ ॥

gahi bhujā līnī dāsi kīnī aṅkuri udōtu jaṇāiā ॥

गहि भुजा लीन्‍ी दासि कीन्‍ी अंकुरि उदोतु जणाइआ ॥

Holding me by the arm, He made me His slave; the branch has sprouted in abundance.

ਮਲਨ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਠੇ ਦਿਵਸ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਆਇਆ ॥

malan mōh bikār nāṭhē divas nirmal āiā ॥

मलन मोह बिकार नाठे दिवस निरमल आइआ ॥

Pollution, attachment and corruption have run away; the immaculate day has dawned.

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਸੀ ॥

drisṭi dhārī mani piārī mahā durmati nāsī ॥

द्रिसटि धारी मनि पिआरी महा दुरमति नासी ॥

Casting His Glance of Grace, the Lord loves me with His Mind; my immense evil-mindedness is dispelled.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੩॥

binvanti nānak bhaī nirmal prabh milē abināsī ॥3॥

बिनवंति नानक भई निरमल प्रभ मिले अबिनासी ॥३॥

Prays Nanak, I have become immaculate and pure; I have met the Imperishable Lord God. ||3||

ਸੂਰਜ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਜਲ ਕਾ ਜਲੁ ਹੂਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

sūraj kirṇi milē jal kā jalu hūā rām ॥

सूरज किरणि मिले जल का जलु हूआ राम ॥

The rays of light merge with the sun, and water merges with water.

ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਲੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨੁ ਥੀਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

jōtī jōti ralī sampūrnu thīā rām ॥

जोती जोति रली संपूरनु थीआ राम ॥

One's light blends with the Light, and one becomes totally perfect.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦੀਸੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ॥

brahmu dīsai brahmu suṇīai ēku ēku vakhāṇīai ॥

ब्रहमु दीसै ब्रहमु सुणीऐ एकु एकु वखाणीऐ ॥

I see God, hear God, and speak of the One and only God.

ਆਤਮ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਕਰਣਹਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥

ātam pasārā karṇahārā prabh binā nahī jāṇīai ॥

आतम पसारा करणहारा प्रभ बिना नही जाणीऐ ॥

The soul is the Creator of the expanse of creation. Without God, I know no other at all.

ਆਪਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਆ ॥

āpi karatā āpi bhugtā āpi kārṇu kīā ॥

आपि करता आपि भुगता आपि कारणु कीआ ॥

He Himself is the Creator, and He Himself is the Enjoyer. He created the Creation.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ॥੪???੨॥

binvanti nānak sēī jāṇhi jinī hari rasu pīā ॥4॥2॥

बिनवंति नानक सेई जाणहि जिन्‍ी हरि रसु पीआ ॥४॥२॥

Prays Nanak, they alone know this, who drink in the subtle essence of the Lord. ||4||2||
