ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੈ ਚਲਨਾ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣ ਚਾਰੀ॥

ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੈ ਚਲਨਾ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣ ਚਾਰੀ॥

bhāi bhagti bhai chalnā hōi prāhuṇ chārī॥

भाइ भगति भै चलना होइ प्राहुण चारी॥

Considering himself a guest, the sikh spends his life in loving devotion.

ਚਲਨ ਜਾਣ ਅਜਾਣ ਹੋਇ ਗਹੁ ਗਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ॥

chalan jāṇ ajāṇ hōi gahu garab nivārī॥

चलन जाण अजाण होइ गहु गरब निवारी॥

They (Sikhs) remain unknown to deceit and pull out ego from their minds.

ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ ਨਿਤ ਪਰਾਹੁਣੇ ਏਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਸਾਰੀ॥

gur sikh nit parāhuṇē ēh karnī sārī॥

गुर सिख नित पराहुणे एह करनी सारी॥

Their true conduct is to treat themselves as guests in this world.

ਗੁਰਮਤ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਿਆਰੀ॥

gurmat ṭahil kamāvṇī satigurū piārī॥

गुरमत टहिल कमावणी सतिगुरू पिआरी॥

The object of the Gurmukh is service and only such action is loved by the Lord.

ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਲਿਵਲੀਣ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਾਧਾਰੀ॥

shabad surti livlīṇ hōi parvār sādhārī॥

शबद सुरति लिवलीण होइ परवार साधारी॥

Merging consciousness in the Word they reform the whole family (in the form of world).

ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਾਇ ਸਹਜਿ ਘਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੪॥

sādh saṅgti jāi sahji ghar nirmal nirṅkārī ॥4॥

साध संगति जाइ सहजि घर निरमल निरंकारी ॥४॥

Through holy congregation they become pure and formless and get established in the final stage of equipoise.
