आसा महला ५ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਬਾਵਰ ਸੋਇ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

bāvar sōi rahē ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

बावर सोइ रहे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

The crazy people are asleep. ||1||Pause||

ਮੋਹ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਬਿਖੈ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੇ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਗਹਨ ਗਹੇ ॥੧॥

mōh kuṭamb bikhai ras mātē mithiā gahan gahē ॥1॥

मोह कुटंब बिखै रस माते मिथिआ गहन गहे ॥१॥

They are intoxicated with attachment to their families and sensory pleasures; they are held in the grip of falsehood. ||1||

ਮਿਥਨ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸੁਪਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਉਲਾਸ ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਹੇ ॥੨॥

mithan manōrath supan ānand ulās mani mukhi sati kahē ॥2॥

मिथन मनोरथ सुपन आनंद उलास मनि मुखि सति कहे ॥२॥

The false desires, and the dream-like delights and pleasures - these, the self-willed manmukhs call true. ||2||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸੰਗੇ ਤਿਲੁ ਮਰਮੁ ਨ ਲਹੇ ॥੩॥

ammritu nāmu padārthu saṅgē tilu marmu na lahē ॥3॥

अंम्रितु नामु पदारथु संगे तिलु मरमु न लहे ॥३॥

The wealth of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is with them, but they do not find even a tiny bit of its mystery. ||3||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਹੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੪੨॥

kari kirpā rākhē satsaṅgē nānak sarṇi āhē ॥4॥2॥142॥

करि किरपा राखे सतसंगे नानक सरणि आहे ॥४॥२॥१४२॥

By Your Grace, O Lord, You save those, who take to the Sanctuary of the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||4||2||142||
