ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਨਾ ਘਟ ਸੋਹਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

ਅਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਨਾ ਘਟ ਸੋਹਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

ati prītam man mōhnā ghaṭ sōhnā prān adhārā rām ॥

अति प्रीतम मन मोहना घट सोहना प्रान अधारा राम ॥

He is dear to me; He fascinates my mind; He is the ornament of my heart, the support of the breath of life.

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੋਭਾ ਲਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਕੀ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥

sundar sōbhā lāl gōpāl daiāl kī apar apārā rām ॥

सुंदर सोभा लाल गोपाल दइआल की अपर अपारा राम ॥

The Glory of the Beloved, Merciful Lord of the Universe is beautiful; He is infinite and without limit.

ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲਾਲਨ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਕੰਤ ਨਿਮਾਣੀਆ ॥

gōpāl daiāl gōbind lālan milhu kant nimāṇīā ॥

गोपाल दइआल गोबिंद लालन मिलहु कंत निमाणीआ ॥

O Compassionate Sustainer of the World, Beloved Lord of the Universe, please, join with Your humble soul-bride.

ਨੈਨ ਤਰਸਨ ਦਰਸ ਪਰਸਨ ਨਹ ਨੀਦ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀਆ ॥

nain tarsan daras parsan nah nīd raiṇi vihāṇīā ॥

नैन तरसन दरस परसन नह नीद रैणि विहाणीआ ॥

My eyes long for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; the night passes, but I cannot sleep.

ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨ ਨਾਮ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰਾ ॥

giān añjan nām biñjan bhaē sagal sīgārā ॥

गिआन अंजन नाम बिंजन भए सगल सीगारा ॥

I have applied the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom to my eyes; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my food. These are all my decorations.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਸੰਤ ਜੰਪੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥

nānku paiampai sant jampai mēli kantu hamārā ॥1॥

नानकु पइअंपै संत जंपै मेलि कंतु हमारा ॥१॥

Prays Nanak, let's meditate on the Saint, that he may unite us with our Husband Lord. ||1||

ਲਾਖ ਉਲਾਹਨੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਨਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਰਾਮ ॥

lākh ulāhnē mōhi hari jab lagu nah milai rām ॥

लाख उलाहने मोहि हरि जब लगु नह मिलै राम ॥

I endure thousands of reprimands, and still, my Lord has not met with me.

ਮਿਲਨ ਕਉ ਕਰਉ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਨਹ ਚਲੈ ਰਾਮ ॥

milan kau karau upāv kichhu hamārā nah chalai rām ॥

मिलन कउ करउ उपाव किछु हमारा नह चलै राम ॥

I make the effort to meet with my Lord, but none of my efforts work.

ਚਲ ਚਿਤ ਬਿਤ ਅਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧੀ ਨ ਧੀਜੀਐ ॥

chal chit bit anit pria binu kavan bidhī na dhījīai ॥

चल चित बित अनित प्रिअ बिनु कवन बिधी न धीजीऐ ॥

Unsteady is my consciousness, and unstable is my wealth; without my Lord, I cannot be consoled.

ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਬਿਰਥੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਜੀਐ ॥

khān pān sīgār birthē hari kant binu kiu jījīai ॥

खान पान सीगार बिरथे हरि कंत बिनु किउ जीजीऐ ॥

Food, drink and decorations are useless; without my Husband Lord, how can I survive?

ਆਸਾ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਰੈਨਿ ਦਿਨੀਅਰੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੀਐ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੈ ॥

āsā piāsī raini dinīru rahi na sakīai iku tilai ॥

आसा पिआसी रैनि दिनीअरु रहि न सकीऐ इकु तिलै ॥

I yearn for Him, and desire Him night and day. I cannot live without Him, even for an instant.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਸੰਤ ਦਾਸੀ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ॥੨॥

nānku paiampai sant dāsī tau prasādi mērā piru milai ॥2॥

नानकु पइअंपै संत दासी तउ प्रसादि मेरा पिरु मिलै ॥२॥

Prays Nanak, O Saint, I am Your slave; by Your Grace, I meet my Husband Lord. ||2||

ਸੇਜ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥

sēj ēk priu saṅgi darsu na pāīai rām ॥

सेज एक प्रिउ संगि दरसु न पाईऐ राम ॥

I share a bed with my Beloved, but I do not behold the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.

ਅਵਗਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਤ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥

avgan mōhi anēk kat mahli bulāīai rām ॥

अवगन मोहि अनेक कत महलि बुलाईऐ राम ॥

I have endless demerits - how can my Lord call me to the Mansion of His Presence?

ਨਿਰਗੁਨਿ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਅਨਾਥਿ ਬਿਨਵੈ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧੇ ॥

nirguni nimāṇī anāthi binvai milhu prabh kirpā nidhē ॥

निरगुनि निमाणी अनाथि बिनवै मिलहु प्रभ किरपा निधे ॥

The worthless, dishonored and orphaned soul-bride prays, ""Meet with me, O God, treasure of mercy.""

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਖੋਈਐ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੋਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਲਕ ਪੇਖਤ ਨਵ ਨਿਧੇ ॥

bhram bhīti khōīai sahji sōīai prabh palak pēkhat nav nidhē ॥

भ्रम भीति खोईऐ सहजि सोईऐ प्रभ पलक पेखत नव निधे ॥

The wall of doubt has been shattered, and now I sleep in peace, beholding God, the Lord of the nine treasures, even for an instant.

ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਲਾਲੁ ਆਵੈ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥

grihi lālu āvai mahlu pāvai mili saṅgi maṅglu gāīai ॥

ग्रिहि लालु आवै महलु पावै मिलि संगि मंगलु गाईऐ ॥

If only I could come into the Mansion of my Beloved Lord's Presence! Joining with Him, I sing the songs of joy.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਈਐ ॥੩॥

nānku paiampai sant sarṇī mōhi darsu dikhāīai ॥3॥

नानकु पइअंपै संत सरणी मोहि दरसु दिखाईऐ ॥३॥

Prays Nanak, I seek the Sanctuary of the Saints; please, reveal to me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||3||

ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

santan kai parsādi hari hari pāiā rām ॥

संतन कै परसादि हरि हरि पाइआ राम ॥

By the Grace of the Saints, I have obtained the Lord, Har, Har.

ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

ichh punnī mani sānti tapti bujhāiā rām ॥

इछ पुंनी मनि सांति तपति बुझाइआ राम ॥

My desires are fulfilled, and my mind is at peace; the fire within has been quenched.

ਸਫਲਾ ਸੁ ਦਿਨਸ ਰੈਣੇ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸੁ ਘਨਾ ॥

saphlā su dinas raiṇē suhāvī anad maṅgal rasu ghanā ॥

सफला सु दिनस रैणे सुहावी अनद मंगल रसु घना ॥

Fruitful is that day, and beauteous is that night, and countless are the joys, celebrations and pleasures.

ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲਾਲਨ ਕਵਨ ਰਸਨਾ ਗੁਣ ਭਨਾ ॥

pragṭē gupāl gōbind lālan kavan rasnā guṇ bhanā ॥

प्रगटे गुपाल गोबिंद लालन कवन रसना गुण भना ॥

The Lord of the Universe, the Beloved Sustainer of the World, has been revealed. With what tongue can I speak of His Glory?

ਭ੍ਰਮ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਥਾਕੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਖੀ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥

bhram lōbh mōh bikār thākē mili sakhī maṅglu gāiā ॥

भ्रम लोभ मोह बिकार थाके मिलि सखी मंगलु गाइआ ॥

Doubt, greed, emotional attachment and corruption are taken away; joining with my companions, I sing the songs of joy.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਸੰਤ ਜੰਪੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੨॥

nānku paiampai sant jampai jini hari hari sañjōgi milāiā ॥4॥2॥

नानकु पइअंपै संत जंपै जिनि हरि हरि संजोगि मिलाइआ ॥४॥२॥

Prays Nanak, I meditate on the Saint, who has led me to merge with the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||2||
