ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੋ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਜਾਪੈ ॥

antri japu tapu sañjmō gur sabadī jāpai ॥

अंतरि जपु तपु संजमो गुर सबदी जापै ॥

Deep within the self are meditation and austere self-discipline, when one realizes the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਗਵਾਪੈ ॥

hari hari nāmu dhiāīai haumai agiānu gavāpai ॥

हरि हरि नामु धिआईऐ हउमै अगिआनु गवापै ॥

Meditating on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, egotism and ignorance are eliminated.

ਅੰਦਰੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਭਰਪੂਰੁ ਹੈ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਾਦੁ ਜਾਪੈ ॥

andru ammriti bharpūru hai chākhiā sādu jāpai ॥

अंदरु अंम्रिति भरपूरु है चाखिआ सादु जापै ॥

One's inner being is overflowing with Ambrosial Nectar; tasting it, the flavor is known.

ਜਿਨ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥

jin chākhiā sē nirbhau bhaē sē hari rasi dhrāpai ॥

जिन चाखिआ से निरभउ भए से हरि रसि ध्रापै ॥

Those who taste it become fearless; they are satisfied with the sublime essence of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਪੀਆਇਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥੧੭॥

hari kirpā dhāri pīāiā phiri kālu na viāpai ॥17॥

हरि किरपा धारि पीआइआ फिरि कालु न विआपै ॥१७॥

Those who drink it in, by the Grace of the Lord, are never again afflicted by death. ||17||
