ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

आसा महला ५ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥

anik bhānti kari sēvā karīai ॥

अनिक भांति करि सेवा करीऐ ॥

Serve Him in many different ways;

ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀਐ ॥

jīu prān dhanu āgai dharīai ॥

जीउ प्रान धनु आगै धरीऐ ॥

Dedicate your soul, your breath of life and your wealth to Him.

ਪਾਨੀ ਪਖਾ ਕਰਉ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥

pānī pakhā karau taji abhimānu ॥

पानी पखा करउ तजि अभिमानु ॥

Carry water for Him, and wave the fan over Him - renounce your ego.

ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੧॥

anik bār jāīai kurbānu ॥1॥

अनिक बार जाईऐ कुरबानु ॥१॥

Make yourself a sacrifice to Him, time and time again. ||1||

ਸਾਈ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਈ ॥

sāī suhāgṇi jō prabh bhāī ॥

साई सुहागणि जो प्रभ भाई ॥

She alone is the happy soul-bride, who is pleasing to God.

ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tis kai saṅgi milau mērī māī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

तिस कै संगि मिलउ मेरी माई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

In her company, I may meet Him, O my mother. ||1||Pause||

ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੀ ਕੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥

dāsni dāsī kī panihāri ॥

दासनि दासी की पनिहारि ॥

I am the water-carrier of the slaves of His slaves.

ਉਨ੍‍ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਬਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ॥

un‍ kī rēṇu basai jīa nāli ॥

उन्‍ की रेणु बसै जीअ नालि ॥

I treasure in my soul the dust of their feet.

ਮਾਥੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਤ ਪਾਵਉ ਸੰਗੁ ॥

māthai bhāgu ta pāvau saṅgu ॥

माथै भागु त पावउ संगु ॥

By that good destiny inscribed upon my forehead, I obtain their society.

ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥

milai suāmī apunai raṅgi ॥2॥

मिलै सुआमी अपुनै रंगि ॥२॥

Through His Love, the Lord Master meets me. ||2||

ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਦੇਵਉ ਸਭ ਨੇਮਾ ॥

jāp tāp dēvau sabh nēmā ॥

जाप ताप देवउ सभ नेमा ॥

I dedicate all to Him - chanting and meditation, austerity and religious observances.

ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਅਰਪਉ ਸਭ ਹੋਮਾ ॥

karam dharam arpau sabh hōmā ॥

करम धरम अरपउ सभ होमा ॥

I offer all to Him - good actions, righteous conduct and incense burning.

ਗਰਬੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਹੋਵਉ ਰੇਨ ॥

garbu mōhu taji hōvau rēn ॥

गरबु मोहु तजि होवउ रेन ॥

Renouncing pride and attachment, I become the dust of the feet of the Saints.

ਉਨ੍‍ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੈਨ ॥੩॥

un‍ kai saṅgi dēkhau prabhu nain ॥3॥

उन्‍ कै संगि देखउ प्रभु नैन ॥३॥

In their society, I behold God with my eyes. ||3||

ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਏਹੀ ਆਰਾਧਉ ॥

nimakh nimakh ēhī ārādhau ॥

निमख निमख एही आराधउ ॥

Each and every moment, I contemplate and adore Him.

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਏਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧਉ ॥

dinsu raiṇi ēh sēvā sādhau ॥

दिनसु रैणि एह सेवा साधउ ॥

Day and night, I serve Him like this.

ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥

bhaē kripāl gupāl gōbind ॥

भए क्रिपाल गुपाल गोबिंद ॥

The Lord of the Universe, the Cherisher of the World, has become merciful;

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੮੪॥

sādhsaṅgi nānak bakhsind ॥4॥33॥84॥

साधसंगि नानक बखसिंद ॥४॥३३॥८४॥

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, He forgives us. ||4||33||84||
