ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਅਕਲ ਅਜੋਨਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਪਾਰਾ॥

ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਅਕਲ ਅਜੋਨਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਪਾਰਾ॥

alakh nirñjanu ākhīai akal ajōni akāl apārā॥

अलख निरंजनु आख???ऐ अकल अजोनि अकाल अपारा॥

That Lord is without blemish, beyond birth, beyond time and is infinite.

ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਉਦੋਤਿ ਲੰਘਿ ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ॥

ravi sasi jōti udōti laṅghi param jōti parmēsru piārā॥

रवि ससि जोति उदोति लंघि परम जोति परमेसरु पिआरा॥

Crossing the lights of sun and the moon, Guru Arjan Dev loves the supreme light of the Lord.

ਜਗ ਮਗ ਜੋਤਿ ਨਿਰੰਤਰੀ ਜਗ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਗ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰਾ॥

jag mag jōti nirntarī jag jīvan jag jai jai kārā॥

जग मग जोति निरंतरी जग जीवन जग जै जै कारा॥

His light is ever effulgent. He is the life of the world and the whole world acclaims him.

ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਆਦੇਸੁ ਉਧਾਰਾ॥

namsakār saṃsār vichi ādi purakh ādēsu udhārā॥

नमसकार संसार विचि आदि पुरख आदेसु उधारा॥

All in the world salute him and he, ordained by the primal Lord, liberates one and all.

ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਛਿਅ ਦਰਸਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਸਚੁ ਅਚਾਰਾ॥

chāri varan chhia darsanāṃ gurmukhi mārgi sachu achārā॥

चारि वरन छिअ दरसनां गुरमुखि मारगि सचु अचारा॥

Amidst the four vamas and six philosophies the way of the gurmukh is the way of adoption of truth.

ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਦਿੜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ॥

nāmu dānu isnānu diṛi gurmukhi bhāi bhagti nisatārā॥

नामु दानु इसनानु दिड़ि गुरमुखि भाइ भगति निसतारा॥

Adopting the remebrance of the name (of Lord), charity and ablution steadfastly and with loving devotion, he (Guru Arjan Dev) gets the devoetees across ( the world ocean).

ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੧੮॥

gurū arjanu sachu sirjaṇhārā ॥18॥

गुरू अरजनु सचु सिरजणहारा ॥१८॥

Guru Arjan is the builder (of the Panth ).
