ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ॥

गउड़ी महला ५ ॥

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ॥

aisī prīti gōvind siu lāgī ॥

ऐसी प्रीति गोविंद सिउ लागी ॥

Such is my love for the Lord of the Universe;

ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

mēli laē pūran vaḍbhāgī ॥1॥ rahāu ॥

मेलि लए पूरन वडभागी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Through perfect good destiny, I have been united with Him. ||1||Pause||

ਭਰਤਾ ਪੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਜਿਉ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

bhartā pēkhi bigsai jiu nārī ॥

भरता पेखि बिगसै जिउ नारी ॥

As the wife is delighted upon beholding her husband,

ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

tiu hari janu jīvai nāmu chitārī ॥1॥

तिउ हरि जनु जीवै नामु चितारी ॥१॥

So does the Lord's humble servant live by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਪੂਤ ਪੇਖਿ ਜਿਉ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਾਤਾ ॥

pūt pēkhi jiu jīvat mātā ॥

पूत पेखि जिउ जीवत माता ॥

As the mother is rejuvenated upon seeing her son,

ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥

ōti pōti janu hari siu rātā ॥2॥

ओति पोति जनु हरि सिउ राता ॥२॥

So is the Lord's humble servant imbued with Him, through and through. ||2||

ਲੋਭੀ ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਧਨਾ ॥

lōbhī andu karai pēkhi dhanā ॥

लोभी अनदु करै पेखि धना ॥

As the greedy man rejoices upon beholding his wealth,

ਜਨ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਮਨਾ ॥੩॥

jan charan kamal siu lāgō manā ॥3॥

जन चरन कमल सिउ लागो मना ॥३॥

So is the mind of the Lord's humble servant attached to His Lotus Feet. ||3||

ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਦਾਤਾਰ ॥

bisru nahī iku tilu dātār ॥

बिसरु नही इकु तिलु दातार ॥

May I never forget You, for even an instant, O Great Giver!

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੪॥੯੩॥੧੬੨॥

nānak kē prabh prān adhār ॥4॥93॥162॥

नानक के प्रभ प्रान अधार ॥४॥९३॥१६२॥

Nanak's God is the Support of his breath of life. ||4||93||162||
