ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰੀਹਾ ਜੀਉ ॥

Gauree Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰੀਹਾ ਜੀਉ ॥

āu sakhī guṇ kāmaṇ karīhā jīu ॥

आउ सखी गुण कामण करीहा जीउ ॥

Come, O sisters - let's make virtue our charms.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣਿਹ ਰਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥

mili sant janā raṅgu māṇih ralīā jīu ॥

मिलि संत जना रंगु माणिह रलीआ जीउ ॥

Let's join the Saints, and enjoy the pleasure of the Lord's Love.

ਗੁਰ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਬਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥

gur dīpku giānu sadā mani balīā jīu ॥

गुर दीपकु गिआनु सदा मनि बलीआ जीउ ॥

The lamp of the Guru's spiritual wisdom burns steadily in my mind.

ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਢੁਲਿ ਢੁਲਿ ਮਿਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

hari tuṭhai ḍhuli ḍhuli milīā jīu ॥1॥

हरि तुठै ढुलि ढुलि मिलीआ जीउ ॥१॥

The Lord, being pleased and moved by pity, has led me to meet Him. ||1||

ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਢੋਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥

mērai mani tani prēmu lagā hari ḍhōlē jīu ॥

मेरै मनि तनि प्रेमु लगा हरि ढोले जीउ ॥

My mind and body are filled with love for my Darling Lord.

ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵੇਚੋਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥

mai mēlē mitru satiguru vēchōlē jīu ॥

मै मेले मित्रु सतिगुरु वेचोले जीउ ॥

The True Guru, the Divine Intermediary, has united me with my Friend.

ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਸੰਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥

manu dēvāṃ santā mērā prabhu mēlē jīu ॥

मनु देवां संता मेरा प्रभु मेले जीउ ॥

I offer my mind to the Guru, who has led me to meet my God.

ਹਰਿ ਵਿਟੜਿਅਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਘੋਲੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

hari viṭṛiahu sadā ghōlē jīu ॥2॥

हरि विटड़िअहु सदा घोले जीउ ॥२॥

I am forever a sacrifice to the Lord. ||2||

ਵਸੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਵਸੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

vasu mērē piāriā vasu mērē gōvidā hari kari kirpā mani vasu jīu ॥

वसु मेरे पिआरिआ वसु मेरे गोविदा हरि करि किरपा मनि वसु जीउ ॥

Dwell, O my Beloved, dwell, O my Lord of the Universe; O Lord, show mercy to me and come to dwell within my mind.

ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਅੜਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

mani chindiṛā phalu pāiā mērē gōvindā guru pūrā vēkhi vigsu jīu ॥

मनि चिंदिअड़ा फलु पाइआ मेरे गोविंदा गुरु पूरा वेखि विगसु जीउ ॥

I have obtained the fruits of my mind's desires, O my Lord of the Universe; I am transfixed with ecstasy, gazing upon the Perfect Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਰਹਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

hari nāmu miliā sōhāgṇī mērē gōvindā mani andinu andu rahsu jīu ॥

हरि नामु मिलिआ सोहागणी मेरे गोविंदा मनि अनदिनु अनदु रहसु जीउ ॥

The happy soul-brides receive the Lord's Name, O my Lord of the Universe; night and day, their minds are blissful and happy.

ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਅੜਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਨਿਤ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਮਨਿ ਹਸੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

hari pāiaṛā vaḍbhāgīī mērē gōvindā nit lai lāhā mani hasu jīu ॥3॥

हरि पाइअड़ा वडभागीई मेरे गोविंदा नित लै लाहा मनि हसु जीउ ॥३॥

By great good fortune, the Lord is found, O my Lord of the Universe; earning profit continually, the mind laughs with joy. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥

hari āpi upāē hari āpē vēkhai hari āpē kārai lāiā jīu ॥

हरि आपि उपाए हरि आपे वेखै हरि आपे कारै लाइआ जीउ ॥

The Lord Himself creates, and the Lord Himself beholds; the Lord Himself assigns all to their tasks.

ਇਕਿ ਖਾਵਹਿ ਬਖਸ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਇਕਨਾ ਫਕਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥

iki khāvahi bakhas tōṭi na āvai iknā phakā pāiā jīu ॥

इकि खावहि बखस तोटि न आवै इकना फका पाइआ जीउ ॥

Some partake of the bounty of the Lord's favor, which never runs out, while others receive only a handful.

ਇਕਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਤਖਤਿ ਬਹਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਇਕਨਾ ਭਿਖ ਮੰਗਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥

iki rājē takhti bahhi nit sukhīē iknā bhikh maṅgāiā jīu ॥

इकि राजे तखति बहहि नित सुखीए इकना भिख मंगाइआ जीउ ॥

Some sit upon thrones as kings, and enjoy constant pleasures, while others must beg for charity.

ਸਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿਦਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੮॥੬੬॥

sabhu ikō sabdu varatdā mērē gōvidā jan nānak nāmu dhiāiā jīu ॥4॥2॥28॥66॥

सभु इको सबदु वरतदा मेरे गोविदा जन नानक नामु धिआइआ जीउ ॥४॥२॥२८॥६६॥

The Word of the Shabad is pervading in everyone, O my Lord of the Universe; servant Nanak meditates on the Naam. ||4||2||28||66||
